A once a year blog! How quickly we forget our side interests when life hits us in the face.
I have a room full of material, but I'm not sewing. I have the most beautiful easel with a blank canvas awaiting, but I'm not painting. I have a teaching degree, but I'm not teaching---hmmmm
What am i doing?

A week ago I had a mammogram. I had put it off for two years--just because. I woke up on Monday morning and decided "this is the day". So I called our local imaging spot and asked if they had any canceled appointments. Sure enough one had opened up (how surprising).
The procedure took all of 10 minutes and yes, it's a tad bit uncomfortable- But I did it; way to go girl!! On Friday of that week I'm getting ready to walk out the door to catch my ride to the "Women of Faith" conference when the phone rings-----Hello, Mrs. Pastor Steve, the radiologist saw some areas which warrant another mammogram. We'd like to set up another appointment. Monday?-Sorry. Tuesday- yes, 10:15. See you then! The conversation was over but it continued in my head the rest of the weekend. I would whisper it to my friends at the conference and they would inevitably say " no worries", it's probably all that coffee you drink- yup, probably is but in my mind I've given away all my cool shoes, I've knitted baby blankets for the grand children I'll never see, I've wondered if Jesus will be able to say to me "Well done, my good and faithful servant. Isn't it incredible what "not knowing" can do to you?
